This list of departments and divisions provides an outline of what our city government actually does. The comments with each item begin to suggest how to think about improvements.

  • Building and Housing — Ideas for fair and efficient code enforcement and promoting energy-efficient green buildings.

  • City Council — Ideas for improving legislative leadership and policy development, transparency, and service to constituents.

  • City Planning — Ideas for better land use planning, zoning, and transportation planning.

  • Community Development — Ideas for investing HUD funds, reusing Land Bank lots, and helping residents maintain housing.

  • Economic Development — Ideas for developing a local economy that’s equitable and sustainable.

  • Finance — Ideas for participatory budgeting and improving city technology and data transparency.

  • Law — Ideas for bail reform and decriminalizing low-level offenses.
